    Research on Online Reviews Reliability

    This study examines the factors that have an impact on online reviews reliability. A theoretical framework was built and empirically tested with a sample of 200 interviewees. Results of structural equation model show that the online reviews quality and perceived risk have positive impact on online review reliability. Accordingly, online review value and number have positive impact on online review quality, customer involvement and reviewer acception have positive impact on perceived risk. The results of this study also suggest that the character of online review and reviewer indirectly impact review reliability by impacting intermediate variables

    The current status of tumor microenvironment and cancer stem cells in sorafenib resistance of hepatocellular carcinoma

    Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a heterogeneous and aggressive liver cancer that presents limited treatment options. Despite being the standard therapy for advanced HCC, sorafenib frequently encounters resistance, emphasizing the need to uncover the underlying mechanisms and develop effective treatments. This comprehensive review highlights the crucial interplay between the tumor microenvironment, cancer stem cells (CSCs), and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in the context of sorafenib resistance. The tumor microenvironment, encompassing hypoxia, immune cells, stromal cells, and exosomes, exerts a significant impact on HCC progression and therapy response. Hypoxic conditions and immune cell infiltration create an immunosuppressive milieu, shielding tumor cells from immune surveillance and hindering therapeutic efficacy. Additionally, the presence of CSCs emerges as a prominent contributor to sorafenib resistance, with CD133+ CSCs implicated in drug resistance and tumor initiation. Moreover, CSCs undergo EMT, a process intimately linked to tumor progression, CSC activation, and further promotion of sorafenib resistance, metastasis, and tumor-initiating capacity. Elucidating the correlation between the tumor microenvironment, CSCs, and sorafenib resistance holds paramount importance in the quest to develop reliable biomarkers capable of predicting therapeutic response. Novel therapeutic strategies must consider the influence of the tumor microenvironment and CSC activation to effectively overcome sorafenib resistance in HCC

    Linear-Time Probabilistic Proofs with Sublinear Verification for Algebraic Automata Over Every Field

    Interactive oracle proofs (IOPs) are a generalization of probabilistically checkable proofs that can be used to construct succinct arguments. Improvements in the efficiency of IOPs lead to improvements in the efficiency of succinct arguments. Key efficiency goals include achieving provers that run in linear time and verifiers that run in sublinear time, where the time complexity is with respect to the arithmetic complexity of proved computations over a finite field F\mathbb{F}. We consider the problem of constructing IOPs for any given finite field F\mathbb{F} with a linear-time prover and polylogarithmic query complexity. Several previous works have achieved these efficiency requirements with O(1)O(1) soundness error for NP-complete languages. However, constrained by the soundness error of the sumcheck protocol underlying these constructions, the IOPs achieve linear prover time only for instances in fields of size Ω(logn)\Omega(\log n). Recent work (Ron-Zewi and Rothblum, STOC 2022) overcomes this problem, but with linear verification time. We construct IOPs for the algebraic automata problem over any finite field F\mathbb{F} with a linear-time prover, polylogarithmic query complexity, and sublinear verification complexity. We additionally prove a similar result to Ron-Zewi and Rothblum for the NP-complete language R1CS using different techniques. The IOPs imply succinct arguments for (nondeterministic) arithmetic computations over any finite field with linear-time proving (given black-box access to a linear-time collision-resistant hash function). Inspired by recent constructions of reverse-multiplication-friendly embeddings, our IOP constructions embed problem instances over small fields into larger fields and adapt previous IOP constructions to the new instances. The IOP provers are modelled as random access machines and use precomputation techniques to achieve linear prover time. In this way, we avoid having to replace the sumcheck protocol

    Using electroencephalography to analyse drivers’ different cognitive workload characteristics based on on-road experiment

    Driver’s cognitive workload has an important impact on driving safety. This paper carries out an on-road experiment to analyse the impact from three innovative aspects: significance analysis of electroencephalogram (EEG) under different cognitive workloads, distribution of EEG maps with different frequency signals and influence of different cognitive workloads on driving safety based on EEG. First, the EEG signals are processed and four frequencies of delta, theta, alpha and beta are obtained. Then, the time–frequency transform and power spectral density calculation are carried out by short-time Fourier to study the correlation of each frequency signal of different workload states, as well as the distribution pattern of the EEG topographic map. Finally, the time and space energy and phase changes in each cognitive task event are studied through event-related spectral perturbation and inter-trial coherence. Results show the difference between left and right brains, as well as the resource occupancy trends of the monitor, perception, visual and auditory channels in different driving conditions. Results also demonstrate that the increase in cognitive workloads will directly affect driving safety. Changes in cognitive workload have different effects on brain signals, and this paper can provide a theoretical basis for improving driving safety under different cognitive workloads. Mastering the EEG characteristics of signals can provide more targeted supervision and safety warnings for the driver

    Comparison of the rapid yeast and mold count plate method with GB 4789.15-2016 method for enumeration of molds in three types of food

    Objective The rapid yeast and mold count plate (RYM) method and the national standard (GB 4789.15-2016) method were compared for the consistency in three types of food detection. Methods 90 pastry, bread and biscuits samples, 30 milk beverage, vegetable protein beverage and solid drink samples, 30 health foods samples, three types of artificially contaminated food samples were detected by the RYM method and the GB method, then the data of the two method were analyzed by the paired t test and the log difference (| dlog |). Results The statistics were made for the data of three types of food samples and three types of artificially contaminated food samples. The paired t test gave P>0.05, and the ratio of |dlog| ≤0.50 were 100.0%. There was no significant difference between the result of the two method. Conclusion There is no significant difference between the results of the RYM method and the GB method in detecting three types of food samples and three types of artificially contaminated food samples

    Vagus nerve stimulation for refractory posttraumatic epilepsy: Efficacy and predictors of seizure outcome

    BackgroundTraumatic brain injury (TBI) has been recognized as an important and common cause of epilepsy since antiquity. Posttraumatic epilepsy (PTE) is usually associated with drug resistance and poor surgical outcomes, thereby increasing the burden of the illness on patients and their families. Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) is an adjunctive treatment for medically refractory epilepsy. This study aimed to determine the efficacy of VNS for refractory PTE and to initially evaluate the potential predictors of efficacy.MethodsWe retrospectively collected the outcomes of VNS with at least a 1-year follow-up in all patients with refractory PTE. Subgroups were classified as responders and non-responders according to the efficacy of VNS (≥50% or <50% reduction in seizure frequency). Preoperative data were analyzed to screen for potential predictors of VNS efficacy.ResultsIn total, forty-five patients with refractory PTE who underwent VNS therapy were enrolled. Responders were found in 64.4% of patients, and 15.6% of patients achieved seizure freedom at the last follow-up. In addition, the responder rate increased over time, with 37.8, 44.4, 60, and 67.6% at the 3-, 6-, 12-, and 24-month follow-ups, respectively. After multivariate analysis, generalized interictal epileptic discharges (IEDs) were found to be a negative predictor (OR: 4.861, 95% CI: 1.145–20.632) of VNS efficacy.ConclusionThe results indicated that VNS therapy was effective in refractory PTE patients and was well tolerated over a 1-year follow-up period. Patients with focal or multifocal IEDs were recognized to have better efficacy after VNS therapy

    Improving the corrosion resistance of MgZn1.2GdxZr0.18 (x =0, 0.8, 1.4, 2.0) alloys via Gd additions

Publisher Copyright: © 2020 Elsevier LtdEffects of Gd addition on microstructure, corrosion behavior and mechanism of cast and extruded MgZn1.2GdxZr0.18 alloys are investigated through microstructure observation, weight loss and electrochemical tests. Increasing Gd from 0 to 2.0 at.%, grains are refined, MgZn2 phase, W-phase and X-phase are formed successively, and basal texture intensity is decreased. The significantly decreased grain size by extrusion and Gd addition induces formation of protective Gd2O3 and MgO layer. The extruded MgZn1.2Gd2.0Zr0.18 alloy shows decreased corrosion rate of 3.72 ± 0.36 mm/year, owing to fine and homogeneous microstructure, dual-role (micro-anode and barrier) of X-phase, compact oxidation layer and basal crystallographic texture.Peer reviewe
